Black Clover: 5 Strongest Wizard Kings, Ranked by Power

In Black Clover, the Wizard King title is held by some of the most powerful and influential mages in the Clover Kingdom. While each Wizard King has had a different set of abilities, they all earned their position by standing above the rest of the Magic Knights.

Of course, with their powerful magic and extraordinary feats, it’s tough to compare these legendary figures. But it’s natural to wonder how the Wizard Kings stack up against each other and who would rise to the top.

5 Lemiel Silvamillion Clover Set the Standard for Wizard Kings

Lemiel Silvamillion Clover was the first Wizard King, so he obviously deserves a spot on the list. He was a legendary figure in the Clover Kingdom’s history. His Light Magic was truly exceptional, allowing him to travel enormous distances rapidly while also firing devastating attacks.

The best example of Lemiel’s power is when he fought against the giant demon created from Licht. He not only matched the demon’s terrifying powers but also defeated it. It was Lemiel’s legendary feats that established the reputation associated with the Wizard King. However, while Lemiel’s historical relevance is unmatched, his demonstrated combat arsenal is quite limited. Honestly, Lemiel has no advanced abilities compared to other Wizard Kings, which earns him the fifth spot.

4 Jester Garandros Boasts One of Black Clover’s Toughest Defenses

Jester Garandros, the 16th Wizard King, has a powerful Barrier Magic that gives him one of the most impressive defensive arsenals. He can use that to create enormous barriers, construct weapons from them, and even surround his body with defensive magic.

There is no doubt that Jester can withstand some very dangerous attacks. However, his versatility also lets him switch instantly from defensive to offensive. Jester is also a talented swordsman, and we saw his talent when he fought against Yami Sukehiro during the events of Sword of the Wizard King. Still, Jester’s offensive abilities don’t exactly reach the level of other Wizard Kings in the series. That is why he takes the fourth spot on this list.

3 Julius Novachrono Can Bend Time to His Will

Sure, Julius may not possess the sheer destructive potential of the Wizard Kings above him, but his Time Magic makes him really difficult to defeat. Julius can steal, store, and manipulate time, allowing him to accelerate himself and use time-based attacks in a fight.

On top of that, Julius has exceptional knowledge of magic and has great battle instincts. He was also responsible for sealing Conrad when the former Wizard King turned to the dark side. If Julius had a wider variety of attacks, leaning more toward raw power, he would have ranked higher on the list.

2 Conrad Leto’s Soul Magic Makes Him a Nightmare to Fight

Conrad is clearly one of the most dangerous characters in Black Clover. His Key Magic is especially terrifying because it grows stronger the more magic he collects. He can also create dimensional rifts that store magic, grimoires, and magical tools, which he can use later.

Conrad’s greatest weapon was surely Elsdocia, the Imperial Sword that stores the souls and powers of previous Wizard Kings. All that, combined with his own abilities, gave Conrad the power to destroy the entire Clover Kingdom. However, while Conrad was incredibly powerful, he still couldn’t defeat Asta, earning him the second spot on the list.

1 Asta’s Incredible Power Makes Him Black Clover’s Strongest Wizard King

Asta, the 29th Wizard King, is clearly the strongest in the series by the end of the manga. After years of training and battles, Asta finally surpasses every limitation that once made him an outsider. Asta was born without Mana, but he develops Anti-Magic, which allows him to negate and cut through magical attacks. He also masters the Demon-Slayer Sword, Demon-Dweller Sword, Demon-Destroyer Sword, and Demon-Slasher Katana.

On top of all that, Asta also perfects Zetten, making his arsenal truly impressive and unlike anything we’ve seen from other Wizard Kings. In the end, Asta becomes so incredibly powerful that he not only defeats Lucius but also Yuno to become the 29th Wizard King. So he is worthy of earning the first spot on this list.
