Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer is of the opinion that the club's sale of a 5% stake to the Viessmann group was a beneficial one.
“Of course, it was our job to secure a very good deal for FC Bayern," Hainer explained in a recent interview with Sports BILD.
"[This was] in order to maintain our international competitiveness and, most of all, the club’s long-term independence.
"It was an advantage that we were not under pressure [to sell shares] and did not necessarily have to sell [shares].
Viessmann is a long-established family-owned company that we've known for many years, shares our values and is an ideal fit for us.
“This is particularly true of Max Viessmann personally, who will be joining FC Bayern’s Supervisory Board in the future,” Hainer added.
BILD hints the agreement will bring €250million into Bayern's finances, making it the most lucrative investment deal in the club's history,
