Bayer Leverkusen star highly doubtful for Europa League opener

Bayer Leverkusen are sweating over the fitness of Ibrahim Maza ahead of their Europa League opener against Celje on Wednesday.

Ibrahim Maza is a major doubt for Bayer Leverkusen’s first Europa League game of the season against Slovenian side NK Celje on Wednesday night.

As reported by Kicker, the 20-year-old missed the final training session on Tuesday due to an infection.

Unless his condition improves significantly before Wednesday evening, the attacking midfielder is expected to miss the game.

Should Maza be ruled out, Malik Tillman is expected to come into the starting XI in his place.

The young Algeria international has scored once and provided two assists in four games so far this season.
