In a statement to People magazine on Tuesday, the Rock and a Hard Place singer apologized for cancelling a show at the Sandia Resort and Casino in Albuquerque, N.M., on May 27, initially claiming due to illness. The cancellation came a day before housekeeping staff found more than $16,000 worth of damage to his hotel room.
‘I take full accountability for everything that happened’
“To the Pueblo of Sandia and my fans: I want to address the events surrounding my cancelled show in New Mexico in May and the reports that have followed,” said Zimmerman.
“First things first, I want to apologize to the Pueblo of Sandia and to everyone at Sandia Resort & Casino. I never meant for any of this to come across as disrespectful.”

Addressing fans who bought tickets to his show, Zimmerman apologized and said, “You deserved better from me.”
“I understand that being a musician comes with big responsibilities, both on and off stage, and I know that I fell short that day. I am reflecting on the disappointment and concern that I caused,” the Holy Smokes hitmaker said.
“I am taking this legal matter seriously. I am committed to doing the work necessary to learn and grow. Thank you to my fans for holding me accountable and for understanding that I am human. I do not take your support for granted.”

Furniture broken, hole in wall
Zimmerman’s statement comes days after an arrest warrant was issued for the singer on June 18. He currently faces a fourth-degree felony for criminal damage to property over $1,000 US and a misdemeanour for falsely obtaining services.
According to an affidavit obtained by People, Zimmerman allegedly “stumbled onto the stage” of the venue for his May 27 concert before hitting a guitar on the ground and “tripping over the stage and falling backward.”

Zimmerman allegedly threw two cymbals on the stage, kicked a drum kit, pushed a guitarist and threw down a microphone before leaving the stage. He then allegedly spat towards a security guard as he went into an awaiting SUV. He allegedly returned to this hotel where he was seen “stumbling down the hallway toward his room.”
The singer cancelled the concert that was scheduled for later that night, stating in an Instagram post that he was ill.
Zimmerman was then allegedly given a deadline to leave the hotel property. He reportedly became disorderly and police were called.
The affidavit noted Zimmerman eventually left the hotel.
The next day, housekeeping staff who went to clean Zimmeran’s room found damage, which included a broken phone, damaged television, chairs and coffee table, two chairs missing and a hole in the wall. The total damage done was more than $16,000.
Zimmerman also allegedly skipped out on a $400 alcohol tab in his room.
The arrest warrant was issued after authorities failed to make contact with Zimmerman repeatedly.
