B.C. Ferries has cancelled seven sailings between Victoria and the Lower Mainland on Tuesday due to a mechanical issue.

The Queen of New Westminster has been pulled from service due to a “mechanical difficulty,” said the ferry company in a service notice posted Tuesday morning.

The issue appears to have been discovered on the 6 a.m. sailing from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay. After the vessel docked at Swartz Bay and passengers disembarked, it travelled back to the Lower Mainland without passengers for repairs.
