Police said officers responded to an initial report of a break-and-enter in progress at a residence in the area of Harwood Ave. N. and Taunton Rd. E.
Victim died at scene
When cops arrived, they found a man suffering from traumatic injuries and he died at the scene, police said.
“Based on the preliminary information that our investigators have, we do believe that it was targeted,” Const. Nicholas Gluckstein said at the scene Tuesday.
Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation but have yet to reveal any suspect information.
On Tuesday, police said two individuals were seen fleeing the area following the attack before officers arrived.
The K9 Unit was brought in to help locate the suspects but they were not found, cops previously said.
Officers gathered evidence on Tuesday “to build a timeline, see where these suspects went to, and try to figure out exactly where that leads to and how they can better find these suspects,” Gluckstein said.
