The One Piece fandom can never catch a break when it comes to having watches on anime frauds flocking to their favorite anime series. Just a few days ago, the fandom was on MrBeast for being a pretentious anime fan, and with a recent video circulating the internet (on X), it seems the target has shifted to Logan Paul.
Someone get this fraud away from my series đ pic.twitter.com/hVqCQVbs3Z
â unonumero56 (@unonumero_56) January 16, 2026While the older Paul brother claims he recently watched the One Piece live-action series, his mispronunciation of Luffyâs name as âLuffy D. Monkeyâ revealed to fans his true status as a fan. But since itâs Logan, he always has an excuse ready, and this time was no different.
He basically immediately referred to a song that may have caused his confusion. He spoke of the song âSuperbadâ by YNG Martyr and pointed out these particular lyrics:
This is real life, not a movie scene, Opposition pressed gettinâ stretched like Luffy D.
To save face, he immediately blamed that if the actual name is Monkey D. Luffy, how could YNG Martyr just blatantly change it to Luffy D in his 2024 song? However, what he failed to realise is that the damage was already done.
Logan Paul Is the New Anime Fraud Target for the Fandom
With Logan Paulâs mispronunciation of Odaâs One Piece protagonist, the fandom came down pretty hard on him for being another anime fraud. The drama with MrBeast hasnât died down yet, despite his trying to clarify everything to the anime community. With matters still warm between Jimmy (MrBeast) and the anime community, they found a new target in Logan Paul and werenât hesitant to speak out their mind on X:
Definition of a fake anime fan luffy d monkeyđđđ
â RoseRealLifeKuutarâ¨đđ (@columbussyrose) January 16, 2026While he is talking about the live action, I still completely agree with you Hun lol. I'm so sick of tourists.
â Siniviere | đđ (@siniviere) January 17, 2026We need to bully people to stay away from it now
â Tom (@ThomasCapella) January 17, 2026Him and Mr.Beast would get along great. Pretending to like things together and whatnot.
MrBeastâs allegations pertained to Kishimotoâs Naruto series, whereas Logan Paulâs allegations concerned Oda-sanâs One Piece. But have you ever thought why the bigger and classic series are targeted more, especially One Piece, rather than newer, smaller anime titles?
Why Is One Piece Always the Prime Target to Attract Anime Frauds?
The Straw Hat Pirates from One Piece | Credits: Toei AnimationOne of the main reasons anime series, especially the âBig Fourâ like Naruto and One Piece, are targeted is their worldwide popularity. Internet personalities and influencers are always looking for trending subjects to pounce on to stay in the conversation, and they have recently discovered the decades-old gold mine of anime that has remained untouched.
While we are not siding with or denying the allegations against MrBeast and Logan Paul, the growing interest of several influencers towards anime is a clear indication of their direction. As for Logan, it could have been an honest mistake born of a misconception and misinformation, but given how the anime community is going after him, itâs hard to imagine that even the Logang can defend him.
