Broadcaster ABC is pushing back on online reports that say talk show host Jimmy Kimmel’s contract isn’t expected to be renewed once his current deal runs out in 2027, TMZ.com reported.

PageSix.com reported Tuesday night that the next season of Jimmy Kimmel Live! would be the last one after 24 years, adding a source close to the matter said, “His contract is not getting extended.” But a spokesperson for ABC told the news outlet that the “information is inaccurate — any reports about the future of the show at this point are purely speculative.”

Long career

Kimmel has hosted the show since 2003, making him one of the longest late-night talk show hosts of all time, behind David Letterman and Johnny Carson. More recently Kimmel has become famous for his antagonist stance against U.S. President Donald Trump. The feud heated up last year when Kimmel joked First Lady Melania Trump “had a glow like an expectant widow,” days before a third assassination attempt on the president.

The reports come as D’Amaro has reportedly been offering older execs buyout packages as part of a company-wide cost cutting move. One source told PageSix.com that should Kimmel step away from late night, “it wouldn’t have anything to do with Trump.”
