Zach Bryan’s latest concert outfit is getting almost as much attention as his performance. The country singer took the stage at Robert Kraft’s Gillette Stadium wearing a “Free Palestine” shirt, with members of his band sporting the same message. The appearance came just one week after Ed Sheeran’s scheduled concerts at the venue were canceled and weeks after Macklemore’s removal from Sheeran’s tour sparked a public dispute. Now, critics on X are taking aim at Bryan, accusing him of bringing politics into his stadium show.
Zach Bryan Wears ‘Free Palestine’ Shirt During Massachusetts Concert
ZUMAPRESS.com / MEGA Bryan performed at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on Friday, October 2, as part of his “With Heaven On” tour. According to TMZ, the singer and members of his band were seen wearing shirts reading “Free Palestine” during the concert. Footage of the performance also circulated online, showing Bryan in a black shirt bearing the message.
The venue immediately brought another musician into the conversation: Macklemore, whose earlier pro-Palestinian statements had prompted a dispute involving Kraft and Sheeran.
Bryan’s appearance placed the same slogan back onstage at Gillette, where Macklemore had been barred from performing.
Critics On X Take Aim At Bryan’s Political Message
Some X users wasted little time criticizing the singer’s wardrobe choice, with several making their objections personal. “Zach Bryan wore a Free Palestine shirt at Robert Kraft’s Gillette Stadium Friday night. When did male country artists become brainwashed liberal snowflakes?” one user wrote.
Another accused Bryan of using the moment to attract attention. “He is a clown that had his 15 minutes and now wants to become relevant again by inserting himself into the leftist sphere of hate. He canceled himself!”
A third commenter questioned whether the singer had made the decision himself, writing, “That man is a boy; he is just taking commands from his people and has no backbone.”
Someone else added, “He has turned into a loser after making it big. Hopefully, these fans realize this.”

Macklemore’s Earlier Performance Sparked The Gillette Dispute
MAR/Capital Pictures / MEGABefore Bryan’s appearance, Macklemore had become the center of a controversy over his participation in Sheeran’s tour. During a performance at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, the rapper shouted “Free Palestine” and performed “Hind’s Hall” while footage from Gaza played behind him.
Kraft was subsequently instrumental in preventing Macklemore from performing at Gillette. Macklemore later claimed that Sheeran told him Kraft had objected to his appearance at the stadium. He also alleged that other stadium owners had joined in applying pressure over his continued involvement in the tour.
Sheeran, meanwhile, maintained that the decision to remove Macklemore belonged to the promoters. His account differed from the rapper’s description of how the dispute unfolded.
Kraft Defended His Decision Before Sheeran’s Shows Were Canceled
Aaron Schwartz – Pool via CNP / MEGAKraft defended barring Macklemore, citing what he characterized as antisemitic rhetoric and imagery, while distinguishing that objection from support for Palestinians. The dispute had already drawn attention to Sheeran’s planned Gillette performances before a separate problem forced both concerts off the schedule.
Sheeran had been set to perform at the stadium on Friday, September 25, and Saturday, September 26. Both shows were ultimately canceled because of severe weather. The weather cancellations came after the controversy surrounding Macklemore’s removal.
One week later, Bryan took the stage at the same stadium wearing the “Free Palestine” message.
Macklemore Moves Forward With His Own ‘Free Palestine’ Tour
ZUMAPRESS.com / MEGAMacklemore has since announced a separate “Free Palestine” tour following his exit from Sheeran’s shows. According to PEOPLE, the rapper revealed in a September 30 Instagram post that all three announced concerts had sold out. The shows are scheduled for late October in Dublin, Paris, and London, with proceeds going to organizations benefiting Palestinians.
That announcement came before Bryan’s Gillette appearance, as the fallout from Macklemore’s removal continued.
