Natalie Eva Marie is officially a single Diva.
The WWE alum quietly finalized her divorce from Jonathan Coyle last August, but as she told Page Six, “It feels like so much longer than a year.”
“You have your initial process of filing and then figuring it out. Then you’re going through lawyers and all this stuff. So it feels like it’s not really surreal to me because I had to also sell the [marital house in Texas] and do all of these other little things to really solidify on paper that we were technically divorced,” Marie explained in our recent interview.
However, the 42-year-old is “thankful” she and Coyle, 44, did not share any children, as that would have made for a more complicated, stressful and emotional split.
“My compassion towards anybody going through it, regardless if you’re amicable or not, it’s just a lot of stuff that you don’t really think about,” she added. “Even going through changing my last name was a bitch and a half.”
Though Marie claimed her entrepreneur ex wasn’t thrilled with her dropping her married moniker, she “fought for [her] name” because it was an important first step in “solidify[ing] this new chapter and this new beginning of [her] life.”
Marie filed for divorce in December 2024 after 10 years of marriage, stating in her petition that she and Coyle had been separated since the previous October.
Asked what led to the breakup, the “Total Divas” star explained to us that “it was a combination of many things.”
Following two distinct runs in WWE totaling close to five years, which came in tandem with the organization’s reality spinoff series starring their biggest female wrestlers, Marie’s goal from a decade prior came to fruition.
In 2023, the recovering alcoholic and addict joined the “Hopeaholics” podcast as a co-host and opened the NEM Recovery Center in Laguna Beach, California.
Marie told us the new career path, which brought her from the Lone Star State back to the Golden State, coupled with turning 40, “set the ball in motion” for an “aha moment” she wasn’t expecting.
“You only have one life, and you know, with my marriage, we were like business partners,” Marie shared, adding that she realized her parents’ 53-year “true blue, ride or die, love ’til death do you part” type of marriage was not the kind she was in.
“I really felt like Jonathan and I were doing a disservice to one another because we just had a very transactional business relationship. We got along, we were totally best of buddies, but that’s not really what a marriage is, nor should it be, nor is that what I wanted it to be,” she said.

Marie wanted to “live [her] life to the fullest” and be as “honest” and “happy” as possible — and she wanted the same for Coyle.
“There wasn’t this massive turning point of, like, turmoil,” she reiterated, “but I think that if we live in such a comfortable state then you’re never really fulfilled either.”
Asked whether she and the regenerative medicine consultant are on “good,” “amicable,” “neutral” or “bad” terms these days, Marie paused to think about how she wanted to answer.
She noted she’s purposefully tried to keep her divorce private but eventually replied, “I wish him well — over there. … There’s no real bad blood in me, but it’s not like we’re best friends or I’m calling him up.”
Despite having a camera crew document their relationship and wedding, Marie doesn’t believe that “hurt” her marriage in any way.
In fact, she’s “really grateful for that time” because it “helped [her] grow as an individual,” own her past struggles and connect with a massive audience who found both relatability and comfort in her story.
Though Marie told us she would get back in the ring and/or reenter the world of reality TV “in a heartbeat,” she’s focused on a new business venture: Passes.
Marie is one of the latest celebrities, athletes, influencers and models to join the subscription-based social media platform, which allows creators to earn direct revenue from their core fan bases.
She’s currently auctioning off the memorable pink outfit she wore during SummerSlam 2021 and donating a portion of the proceeds to her rehab facility in order to “help somebody get into treatment.”
Marie is in awe of the “full-circle moment” she’s experiencing.
