Luis Diaz's Colombia and Jonas Adjetey's Ghana face off in the battle for the last Round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup. Both players started every group stage game for their respective countries, although Wolfsburg's center-back will start this one on the substitute bench
FC Bayern’s Luis Diaz opened his tournament with a goal and an assist against debutants Uzbekistan before Los Cafeteros secured top spot in Group K with a narrow win over DR Congo and a goalless draw with Portugal.
Former Bayern loanee James Rodríguez and ex-Bayer Leverkusen man Gustavo Puerta also impressed during the group stage for Gustavo Alfaro’s side. Jhon Córdoba, who has played for Mainz, Köln and Hertha BSC, also keeps his place in the starting XI from the entertaining goalless draw with Portugal.
As for the Black Stars, Wolfsburg’s Adjetey starts on the bench for the first time in the tournament after he was replaced at half-time against Croatia. Bundesliga veteran Abdul Rahman Baba has only featured as an injury-time substitute against England so far in the competition.
