After his red card in England's 3-2 win over Mexico at the World Cup, Jarell Quansah has been assigned his punishment.

World governing body FIFA announced on Thursday that the Bayer Leverkusen center-back has been handed a two-game suspension.

As a result of said disciplinary punishment, Quansah will consequently miss Saturday's quarter-final against Norway in Miami.

The defender will also be unavailable to coach Thomas Tuchel for a potential semi-final with Argentina or Switzerland, should they advance.

Regarding his comeback, the 23-year-old is only be able to return to action in the event the Three Lions make final or a third-place play-off.

The English Football Association had also considered lodging an appeal, but for now they have not fulfilled those steps.
