World Cup: Ex-Leipzig star Cunha starts as Brazil face Scotland in Group C

Perhaps one of the 2026 World Cup's most exciting group stage finishes sees Scotland take on Brazil for a place in the knockout rounds in Group C. As it stands, both teams will advance, but a win for either would rubber stamp their passage to the next phase. 

This matchup is a repeat of the two nations' group stage clash from the 1998 World Cup in France. The five-time champions would ultimately run out 2-1 winners as a César Sampaio strike and Tom Boyd own-goal cancelled out John Collins' first-half penalty. 

Tonight, the Tartan Army will look to extract some revenge for that defeat and leap-frog Carlo Ancelotti's men into second-place – with kick-off from 00:00 CET, you can find the confirmed starting lineups below.

Scotland coach Steve Clark has gone bold with all four of Grant Hanley, Kieran Tierney, Ryan Christie and Che Adams dropping to the bench. Brazil start with former RB Leipzig attacker Matheus Cunha leading the line up top.
