Christian Eriksen will shortly begin an individual rehabilitation programme, as confirmed by VfL Wolfsburg this afternoon.

Eriksen collapsed for a second time playing for Denmark in the 65th-minute during a friendly international with Ukraine last month.

The decision was reached following discussions with VfL managing director Dieter Hecking regarding where it will take place.

It was promptly decided that the 34-year-old will complete said rehabilitation work in his native Denmark over the coming weeks.

Wolfsburg remains in regular contact with the veteran midfielder and the doctors overseeing his prolonged treatment.

The recently relegated Lower Saxony-based club continue to wish Eriksen all the very best with his rehabilitation.
