Fighting back tears, Megan explained that she pushed herself because she “didn’t want to let anyone down.” The 31-year-old even admitted to showing up every day for the performance “a little bit mentally not okay.”
Things eventually came to a head when she required medical treatment and began fearing something serious had happened.
“I thought I was having a stroke,” she told Marie Claire. “I wasn’t getting any oxygen to my brain, so my hands had froze. My face had froze. I was trying to tell everybody that I don’t think I’m okay. They only thought I was dehydrated.”
Her co-star, Kelsie Watts, also recalled noticing signs that something was off from the start. He said Megan “had barely any color in her face, was shaking, was sweating,” adding that it did not seem normal and left him worried that “something’s gonna happen.”
Watts also shared that it took a lot of convincing before the Grammy Winner finally stepped away mid-production to seek medical care.
