So, when some people came across a large owl with its large head firmly stuck inside the grillwork of a pickup truck Wednesday evening, it was only natural to look for the nearest firehall for a helping hand.

The bird and truck were taken to Station 33, near the intersection of McCarthy Road and Paul Anka Drive in the city’s south end, still attached.

Fire services spokesperson Nick De Fazio said the bird apparently didn’t raise much of a fuss, but rather remained calm while the crews gently freed it from its automotive cage.

The large bird took a beat, mustered its dignity and flew away.
