  • After months of being called out by the community, the game finally changed in the direction it had to.
  • And with how much power the players have, maybe a few ideas could also be implemented in the game.

The Helldivers 2 community thrives on creative tactics and inventive solutions in their fight against the game’s enemy forces. The game is enjoying a significant revival thanks to a recent update that has breathed new life into the game. And in the middle of this revival, a Reddit post suggesting a “Portable High Ground” stratagem has gained traction.

The concept is simple: a deployable structure that allows players to elevate themselves and gain an advantage over enemies. With terrain often littered with enemies and minimal cover, this feature would be bold and crazy. And the game thrives on that.

Helldivers 2 Patch Brings Back All The Players And Their Theories

Being able to control the battlefield in Helldivers 2 from a higher vantage point would be a big change to how players approach missions. With the community’s desire for more flexibility with stratagems and playstyles, this would fit perfectly.

The post on Reddit saw immediate popularity, with players humorously referencing pop culture while others expressed serious interest in its strategic value. The Portable High Ground stratagem would be a deployable tower or platform that would give players verticality for tactical advantage and a better line of sight on enemies.

Balancing such a stratagem would be important to prevent it from becoming overpowered, or underpowered We’ve had both of those this year. Some Reddit users have already suggested potential weaknesses, such as the structure being destructible or gradually collapsing under heavy enemy fire.

The game has seen its share of ups and downs since its release earlier this year, with players frequently voicing concerns about weapon nerfs and balancing issues. At one point, the game’s player count dropped dramatically. But the newest update has brought new life to the game and players are loving it.

The game’s latest patch was nothing short of a turning point for Helldivers 2. Before the update, players were growing increasingly frustrated with the direction the game was heading. Many felt that constant nerfs had made it difficult to deal with tougher enemies, reducing the strategic options available to them.

Released just days ago, this new patch tripled Helldivers 2‘s player count, restoring it to over 68,000 active players. A large part of this resurgence can be attributed to the comprehensive changes Arrowhead introduced, including weapon buffs, armor rebalances, and even the introduction of a Galactic War feature.

The studio’s recent commitment to the community and the game’s overall direction has been crucial to its revival. According to the game’s CCO, Johan Pilestedt, the new patch was made by the same team responsible for the previous nerfs.

This goes to show the studio’s dedication to fixing its mistakes. Even those that the devs themselves are responsible for. This transparency and willingness to listen is what defines Arrowhead and it has brought the team success once more.

Despite the overwhelmingly positive reception, some players have raised concerns that the game may now be too easy. Buffing the weapons and decreasing enemy damage has undeniably improved the fun factor, but there are worries about the challenge diminishing over time. But we’ll see how Arrowhead handles that.

What direction do you think Arrowhead will take after this comeback? Let us know in the comments!
