A 29-year-old man has died in a hospital after being run over by a pickup truck on Friday at the Veld Music Festival at Downsview Park.

Toronto Police announced the death in an update on the case on Sunday, saying the victim had “succumbed to his injuries” and that traffic services was investigating the incident as a private property fatal collision.

Police said the incident happened at about 11:30 p.m. on Friday in the Sheppard Ave. W.-Tuscan Gate area of North York, where the victim was lying on the grass in the parking lot before a pickup truck struck him.

He was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police said the 57-year-old driver of a 2024 black Dodge Ram remained at the scene.

They asked local residents, businesses and drivers who may have security or dashcam footage of the area or incident to contact investigators at 416-808-1900 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-8477 or 222tips.com.

Women sexually assault at Annex residence

Police have charged two men accused of sexually assaulting two women last month at a house in the Annex.

Toronto Police said it was reported that two women met the accused on July 2 at about 4 a.m. in the King St. W.-Portland St. area of the downtown core and were convinced to go to a house in the Annex area.

They said the victims were then sexually assaulted.

Kiya Sayeed, 23, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with assault/choking, sexual assault as a party to an offence with any other person and two counts each of secretly observe/record a person for a sexual purpose and sexual assault.

Farid Mir, 24, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with secretly observe/record a person for a sexual purpose, sexual assault and sexual assault as a party to an offence with any other person.
