The Vancouver Fringe Festival is back at Granville Island for its 26th season, as touring performers who have spent their summer gracing stages across Canada meet local acts bringing down the house with Vancouver flair.

With 83 shows taking place across 18 venues between Sept. 10 and 20 (plus a heaping handful of bonus offerings), the festival is a choose-your-own-adventure theatre extravaganza.

If you’re lacing up your dancing shoes to boogie down the boardwalk, the 2026 Vancouver Fringe Festival programme is packed with music-forward performances from near and far.

Check out contemporary dance storytelling with Ask Me How I’m Feeling (Arts Umbrella – Scott Studio) and Byte Your Tongue (The NEST), experience flamenco traditions with Las Mujeronas (Performance Works), tune in to a thriller musical about surveillance and empathy at Behind The Wall (Waterfront Theatre) or sample a cabaret performance at The Madeline Minx Cabaret (Performance Works).

For the young theatre-lovers in your life, Kids Fringe is an introduction to the magic of live performance. From free performances like Ready, Steady, Go! (Picnic Pavilion) to circus workshops and a ‘baby rave’ where family members of all ages can join in on the dance floor, kids are invited find their own ways to connect with theatre magic on September 12 and 13. Both days of Kids Fringe programming include a parade at 1:15 p.m.
