Two hospitalized after five-vehicle collision in south Ottawa

A man and a woman were transported to hospital following a five-vehicle collision in Ottawa’s south end on Friday afternoon.

An Ottawa Paramedic Service spokesperson said the two were listed in serious, but stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Ottawa Fire Services said the driver and lone occupant was trapped in one vehicle and had to be extricated using specialized equipment.

Firefighters remained on scene to disconnect the batteries in all the vehicles and to spread absorbent on the roadways to collect leaking fluids.

Southbound Bank Street was temporarily closed in the area because of the collision.
