Donald Trump‘s social media team fired back fiercely at a journalist after he shared a post about White House Executive Assistant Natalie Harp accompanying the president on his trip to Ireland.

The politician traveled to the country without his wife, Melania Trump, but with him was Harp, the aide who has been the subject of speculation surrounding the first couple, and the journalist had something to say about it.

The team behind the president’s Rapid Response 47 account had an issue with what was said and put out a scathing statement over the perceived attack on Donald Trump and his blonde aide.

The latest social media showdown began when journalist Aaron Rupar posted a photograph of Harp during Trump’s September 12 Ireland visit.

“Look who made the trip to Ireland!” he captioned the picture, which showed Harp smiling in a green dress.

He also added the hashtag #TravelWithNatalie, a tag he has repeatedly used in posts featuring the special assistant.

The official White House Rapid Response X account swiftly responded to the journalist’s post, directly targeting Rupar.

“President Trump does, in fact, travel with staff,” the account wrote, making sure to add that the journalist, on the other hand, is “a sick, deluded freak (in his 40s) who sits behind a keyboard and posts creepy things like this.”

Rupar, not backing down, replied, saying that he’s too old for Trump: “I know being in my 40s makes me too old for the president, but I’m at peace with it.”

The exchange generated millions of views on the platform. It attracted reactions from various X users, with some criticizing the journalist for his “fixation” on Harp and others criticizing the response team and the wider Trump administration.

Critics and fans alike took the opportunity to join in on the fight due to the exchange between Trump’s team and the journalist.

The comments represented the divide along political lines, with those in support of the president attacking Rupar while those against came to his defense.

One user strongly criticized the Rapid Response account as well as Trump and Harp for the attack on Rupar.

“Who tf runs this account? A bunch of sick f-cks,” the person said. “Who are you, as a government-run account, to attack citizens reporting on the deluded freak (in his 80s) traveling with his psychotic diaper maid? I hope EVERYONE in this administration sees prison.”

Another sharing the same sentiment asked the response account to reveal to the public why “Gas and grocery costs are so high,” instead of rapidly responding to posts about the special aide.

Melania was then dragged into the conversation with one individual asking, “Where’s Melania though? You know, his wife… the First Lady?”

Rupar was also called out, with one commenter calling his posts on X “trivial and petty.” The commenter also said, “If he wasn’t a punk, he would be an annoyance.”

Another agreed with the response team’s remark, calling Rupar a “creepy keyboard guy.”

Natalie Harp Has Become The Subject Of Speculation

Harp’s Ireland appearance and the online kerfuffle it stirred came after weeks of increased attention on the aide ever since she was called out along with Trump by Georgia senator Jon Ossoff.

Ossoff referenced Harp in his speech while campaigning for reelection to the United States Senate.

He said that the president “doesn’t want to do the job. He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the Emir of Qatar.”

The comment has since inspired the “Travel With Natalie” hashtag that Rupar and a select few use on posts about the aide, as well as increased scrutiny on the previously unheard White House assistant.

While rumors of an affair between the president and Harp have become rampant, Ossoff reportedly insists he wasn’t alleging any such thing and was only arguing that Trump operated in a “bubble” surrounded by yes-men and apparently women.

The First Lady of the United States has kept a noticeably limited schedule during her husband’s second presidential term.

Analysis by The Daily Beast shows that her workload is “shockingly” lighter than that of Jill Biden and Michelle Obama.

Her limited public appearances have been alleged to be in part connected to Harp’s constant presence around her husband, with Trump biographer Michael Wolff making bold claims about how Melania avoids being in the same space as the aide/

“Melania, whose appearances with her husband were carefully negotiated and choreographed, would not show up if Harp was around,” Wolff claimed, per OK! Magazine. “Since Harp was always around, Melania never was — appearing with her husband only in the last week of the campaign.”

Melania’s senior advisor Marc Beckman has insisted that she has no issues with the “hardworking” assistant.

Melania’s recent absence on the Ireland Trip has further fueled speculation, especially because the controversial aide remains around the president while his first lady is nowhere to be seen.

Speaking on her absence, Trump joked, saying, “My wife is here in spirit. She’s watching right now. She said, ‘Say hello,’ because she was very friendly with these two people.”

“I said, ‘Well, why don’t you come with me?’ She said, ‘Well, it’s a seven-hour trip. Maybe I’m not that friendly,'” Trump joked to a delighted crowd.
