Hunt's body was found near Hope in March 2021, two months after she was reported missing

The family of murdered Port Moody woman Trina Hunt is appealing for information that would bring her killer to justice.
More than three years after Hunt was first reported missing to police, no charges have been laid in her death.
Her family renewed its plea for answers on Wednesday.
“We have gone far too long with no answers. We are crushed that still today no one is in custody for the murder of Trina,” said Hunt’s brother, Brad Ibbott, in a statement released by the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.

“We think of Trina often. Her infectious smile, her love for laughter, and her genuine caring nature,” he said. “We carry on some of Trina’s traditions in an attempt to keep her memory alive by baking her famous snow-capped candy cane dipped chocolate brownies, savouring a glass of her favourite wine, Chaberton’s Bacchus and honouring her with her favourite coconut cake on her birthday.”
Hunt was reported missing by her husband, Iain Hunt, on Jan. 18, 2021. Extensive searches by police, her family and friends, and the community were not successful. Her body was found about two months later on March 29 near Hope, south of Silver Creek.
In June, police searched two homes, including Hunt’s house in Port Moody’s Heritage Woods neighbourhood and a home in Mission that belonged to the parents of Hunt’s husband.
In June 2022, IHIT made an arrest in the case, but no one was charged and the person’s name was not identified.
IHIT said the investigation continues and it remains “steadfast” in bringing Hunt’s killer to justice.
“This is an active investigation,” said Cpl. Sukhi Dhesi of IHIT in a statement, urging anyone with information to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-4448 (IHIT) or by email at [email protected].
Hunt’s family has offered a reward of up to $50,000 for new information that leads to criminal charges.
