Luka Vušković has revealed that he is “99.9 percent” certain to leave Hamburger SV when his loan spell from Tottenham Hotspur is over at the end of the season.

The 19-year-old Croatian centre-back spoke to Kicker in the mixed zone after scoring in HSV’s 3-2 win over SC Freiburg on Sunday – a match that will almost certainly go down as his final appearance at the Volksparkstadion.

“To a 99.9 percent certainty, it was my farewell party,” Vušković acknowledged.

His brother, Mario Vušković, who is currently serving a doping ban but will be eligible to play again from November, was in the stadium alongside their parents.

“It’s a special moment. I’m very happy that I could help this team. And I’m very happy that I was allowed to be part of this club," Luka Vušković said.

Vušković has made a huge impact since arriving last summer and is currently HSV’s joint-top scorer with six goals alongside fellow loanee Fabio Vieira, who is contracted to Arsenal. The Portuguese midfielder is set to return to his parent club this summer as well.

HSV coach Merlin Polzin substituted both players in stoppage time to give them what he described as a “special moment.”

“I had the privilege of coaching these players for a year, and I’m very happy about that because they played a superb season,” Polzin said, before insisting that HSV will be well-equipped for next season even without their two standout loanees.

“No one needs to worry that we won’t be ready next year."
