Toronto mansion reportedly owned by Blue Jays’ George Springer sells for $6 million

George Springer looks to be set to do a little bit of packing — and we’re not just talking about going on a trip with the Jays.

The four-time all-star — whose massive six-year, $150-million contract ends after this season — reportedly has sold his midtown Toronto mansion for $6 million after more than a month on the market.

The property had been on the market since late April and had been listed at $6.445 million — almost half a million higher than what it finally brought in, according to real-estate site HouseSigma.

Springer reportedly bought the Lawrence Park South area home in January 2022, a year after signing with the Jays.

Mansion Global reported that Springer and his wife, Charlise, paid $6.43 million for the 5,300-square-foot, stone Georgian colonial-style house at the time.

The five-bedroom, six-bathroom house was built in 2005 and was “comprehensively renovated” in 2019, according to brokerage SAGE Real Estate.

It previously had been sold for $4.48 million in 2018.

What are some key features?

The redesign took the classic interiors and added “contemporary twists” by using bold marble and other stone accents in the kitchen and bathrooms.

According to the listing on Realtor.ca, which was posted on Wednesday, the primary bedroom – which occupies its own wing – “makes a statement” with vaulted 12-foot ceilings, a peaceful reading corner, fully renovated ensuite bathroom and a custom dressing room.

“We often hear ‘bedroom retreat,’ but this one actually delivers,” real-estate broker Jason Fata said, per Mansion Global.

The secondary bedrooms also include a nursery and a children’s room with custom built-ins.

The house also features a finished lower level, which currently is set up as a playroom but could be converted to a home gym, according to the listing.

According to the outlet, Springer declined to comment on the listing.

Springer also reportedly owns a seven-bedroom, 7.5-bath estate in Florida. Realtor.com reported in 2024 that Springer bought the 7,309-square-foot waterfront house in Stuart, Fla., for $9.5 million.

How is Springer’s season going?

Springer’s 2026 season has been a struggle. Through 38 games, the DH has posted a slash line of .211/.288/.367 while hitting five home runs to go with 14 RBIs.

He also missed two weeks of action after suffering a broken toe in April.

During his six seasons in Toronto, Springer has a batting average of .261 with 121 home runs in 664 games. He played the hero during Game 7 of last year’s ALCS against the Seattle Mariners, hitting a clutch home run to help the team advance to the World Series.

The Blue Jays currently are in Baltimore to take on the Orioles in the midst of a seven-game trip. Toronto took the first game of their four-game series with their AL East rival on Thursday night and will look to add to their three-game winning streak on Friday.

After their set with Baltimore, the Jays will fly south for a three-game series with the Atlanta Braves before returning to Toronto to face the Orioles at Rogers Centre on June 5.
