LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is a treasure trove of Easter Eggs, celebrating and referencing Batman’s rich lore and mythos across various media. You’ll find Easter eggs referencing both Batman and non-Batman properties hidden throughout the game. With that said, from chronically online memes to heartfelt tributes, here are the top 15 best Easter Eggs in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.
15 Bat-Mite’s Anime Obsession
Bat-Mite loves anime! | Credits: T5G via YouTubeWhen you visit Bat-Mite’s store in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, look up, and you’ll notice that the place is decorated with iconic posters from popular anime, but instead of the original characters, Bat-Mite is in them. You’ll see LEGO Bat-Mite dressed up as Naruto, Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender, Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece, and other prominent characters from famous anime.
14 It’s Always Sunny in Arctic World
Danny DeVito’s influence on Penguin remains! | Credits: T5G via YouTubeWhen you fight Penguin during LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight’s main story, he’ll randomly say, “So anyway, I started blastin’!”, which is a clear reference to Danny DeVito’s character Frank Reynolds saying the same thing in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. However, Penguin quoting Danny DeVito isn’t surprising since this version of Penguin is based on his portrayal of the villain in Batman Returns (1992).
During the boss fight, Penguin also references Home Alone 2, specifically “Merry Christmas, you filthy animals”, so Penguin is a pop-culture expert in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.
13 Jonkler Meme
Why so serious? *cue the beatboxing* | Credits: T5G via YouTubePerhaps one of the most random yet fitting Easter Eggs in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is a Zoo Worker name-dropping Jonkler. Attaching Trackers to all the Penguins roaming around in Old Gotham South during the Escaped Zoo Animal Activity (required for unlocking Absolute Batman) and returning to the Zoo Worker will prompt him to say, “You did it! Bet that was easier than catching the Jonkler, or whatever that clown guy was.”
If you’re not aware, Jonkler is a huge meme in the DC community, especially in the Batman Arkham subreddits, and the misspelling of the name, paired with an image of Joker smiling from Injustice: Gods Among Us, is intended for comedic effect.
12 Arkham City Map Blueprints
Protocol 10 in the sequel? | Credits: T5G via YouTubeIf you’ve played Batman: Arkham Asylum, you’ll know that the game features hidden blueprints of Arkham City, teasing Batman: Arkham City years before its official reveal. LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight also features similar Arkham City blueprints that you can place inside the Batcave. However, the most intriguing aspect of the map is a picture of LEGO Hugo Strange taped on it.
11 Bane’s Prank Calls
Prank calls are Batman’s bane of existence! | Credits: T5G via YouTubeThe Batcave is a treasure trove of Easter Eggs and references in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. However, while exploring or staying idle inside the location, you’ll receive prank calls from Bane, annoying Batman. Some of the lines refer to his appearance in the HBO TV series, Harley Quinn.
10 Ace the Bat-Hound
Not a bad boy, but a bat boy! | Credits: T5G via YouTubeLEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight allows you to customize the Batcave in its entirety, and one of the things you can place is the Bat-Hound Doghouse. Once the Doghouse is built, you can walk up and interact with it to bring out Ace the Bat-Hound, the superhero dog adopted by Batman. And yes, you can pet the dog.
9 SpongeBob and Squidward’s Houses
From Bikini Bottom to Gotham City! | Credits: T5G via YouTubeEarly on in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, you’ll come across an Aquarium during the Iceberg Lounge mission with Batman and Gordon. Look through the window on your left to see LEGO versions of SpongeBob and Squidward’s houses from SpongeBob Squarepants.
8 Ra’s Al Ghul’s “particular set of skills”
Does his skillset end with the words “I will kill you”? | Credits: T5G via YouTubeDuring LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight’s prologue, Ra’s al Ghul will appear and say, “I have a particular set of skills,” directly referencing Liam Neeson’s iconic threat from the movie Taken. Neeson also played Ra’s al Ghul in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy, so this Easter Egg scores two points with one line.
7 Five Nights At Arctic World
Copying Fazbear Entertainment’s entire flow! | Credits: T5G via YouTubeWhen pursuing Penguin and exploring Arctic World with Batman and Catwoman in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, you’ll come across an animatronic polar bear saying, “Arctic World assumes no responsibility in the event of personal injury, including, but not limited to gnawing, mauling, clawing, biting, dismemberment and ingestion”, hilariously referencing the night security guard’s job in Five Nights at Freddy’s and The Bite of ’87.
Is that the Bat of '39?!?
— LEGO (@LEGO_Group) May 20, 2026During the mission, Batman also says, “Wouldn’t want to work the night shift in this place”, referencing the security guard avoiding the homicidal animatronics for five nights in Five Nights at Freddy’s.
6 American Psycho in Wayne Enterprises
Let’s see Bruce Wayne’s card! | Credits: T5G via YouTubeWhen Bruce visits Wayne Enterprises in the first chapter of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, he gives his business card to the assistant at the reception. However, a blonde minifig called Yuppy, dressed similarly to Jared Leto’s Paul Allen from American Psycho, says, “Look at that subtle off-white coloring…The tasteful thickness of it. It even has a watermark…” after seeing Bruce’s card.
This is exactly what Christian Bale’s character, Patrick Bateman, in American Psycho, says after seeing Paul Allen’s business card. Funnily enough, both Christian Bale and Jared Leto are no strangers to the DC Universe, so this Easter Egg goes deeper.
5 Merchant from Resident Evil 4
Got a good selection of suits on sale, Dark Knight! | Credits: T5G via YouTubeWhen you’re exploring Bat-Mite’s store in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, he’ll randomly start to say the Merchant’s iconic line, “What’re you buying?” from Resident Evil 4, before he stops and remarks how hard the voice is on the vocal cords, and how he has no idea how the merchant does it.
Sometimes, Bat-Mite will also show up wearing the Merchant’s coat and purple bandana, cosplaying the iconic character from Resident Evil 4. He’s also a merchant after all.
4 Black Adam’s Hierarchy of Power
Batman changes the hierarchy of LEGO games! | Credits: T5G via YouTubeDuring Black Adam’s promotional campaign, Dwayne Johnson infamously marketed the movie by saying, “The hierarchy of power in the DC Universe is about to change“. That didn’t happen, but it spawned one of the best Easter Eggs in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.
While exploring the Museum, you’ll notice a chair with two statues on both sides. You can sit on it, which will hilariously prompt Batman to say, “The hierarchy of power in Gotham is about to change”.
3 Batman’s Shark-Repellent Bat Spray
Batman has a bat-solution for everything! | Credits: T5G via YouTubeWhen looking for the Penguin during LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight’s main story, you’ll meet Tiny the shark, who’ll try to stop Batman from reaching the villain. During this quick-time sequence, Batman will get rid of the shark by using his shark-repellent Bat spray. This is a direct reference to Adam West’s Batman using a shark repellent to battle a shark on a ladder in Batman: The Movie (1966).
2 Kevin Conroy Tribute
Truly the definitive voice of Gotham’s Knight! | Credits: T5G via YouTubeLEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight pays a heartfelt tribute to the late Kevin Conroy, the legendary voice of Batman who brought the Dark Knight to life for three decades across video games, television series, and films. Throughout the map, you can find billboards advertising the Gotham City Radio talk show, After Hours With Conroy, with the subtitle, “The Voice of Gotham’s Night”, honoring the icon behind the Caped Crusader.

The TT Games team is ridiculously well-versed in memes, but they’ve outdone themselves with this LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight Easter Egg. When exploring the Batcave, Alfred will randomly say, “Why do we fall, sir? So that we can learn to pick ourselves up. Batman Begin”, referencing the legendary tweet from Michael Caine.
Why do we fall?
So we can learn to pick ourselves up.
Batman Begin
Michael Caine portrayed Alfred Pennyworth in The Dark Knight Trilogy, and going so far as to include his tweet as something Alfred says in the game is genuinely admirable.
