Three women were taken to hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation following an early Friday morning high-rise fire in the city’s Bay Ward.
The victims were in stable condition when Ottawa paramedics took them to hospital.
Paramedics said a total of 13 other people were assessed and treated at the scene. None of those individuals required hospital care.
At 4:40 a.m., a monitoring agency alerted Ottawa Fire Services of activated alarms at a high-rise on the 1000 block of Ramsay Crescent, near Pinecrest Road and Highway 417.
