Officials ‘thoroughly’ reviewing release
The OPP said at the time that Drysdale received a statutory release after serving two-thirds of an eight-year and eight-month sentence for robbery with violence, a drug charge and four firearm-related offences.
“Realizing the serious and tragic charges that have been laid, it is important that it be thoroughly reviewed to fully examine the circumstances around what happened,” the CSC said in its statement at the time.
“To this end, CSC has launched an investigation and will not hesitate to implement any measures, as determined necessary, to further enhance public safety.”
It was not immediately clear if that examination was complete.
