The Witcher 3 Remastered: Every Mod Confirmed for Consoles So Far

1 week ago 22

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is getting a remaster on September 29, 2026, and CD Projekt Red has one more surprise for longtime console players that is arriving alongside this major update: mods. After years of watching PC players transform Geralt’s adventures with community creations, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch 2 players will finally get their own mod library.

CDPR has now shown several of those mods running during its Gamescom REDstreams, giving us a first look at what console players will actually be able to install. From restored content to cosmetic tweaks and one particularly useful quality-of-life change, here are all the mods confirmed so far.

Every Confirmed Console Mod in The Witcher 3 Remastered

The studio has shown (or talked about) six mods so far in their livestreams, covering everything from cut content to cosmetics and quality-of-life changes:

1. Boat Races

The Boat Races mod brings back four races that were cut from the game during development, using original CDPR material found in the game’s files. It adds the races themselves along with dialogue, characters, notices, journal entries, and voice work, making this more than a simple new open-world activity bolted onto the game.

2. Glowing Witcher Eyes

This one does exactly what it says on the tin. The Glowing Eyes mod makes Geralt’s (and other Witchers’) eyes actually emit light in dark areas instead of simply using brighter textures. It is a small touch, but it fits the characters particularly well and gives their mutations a little more visual presence.

3. Gwent Mods

Gwent has its own corner of The Witcher 3‘s modding scene in Nexus Mods, and CDPR has confirmed that console players will get to play around with it too. The available PC mods range from new cards and altered decks to larger changes that rework how Gwent itself plays, although the exact console selection will depend on what makes it through the developer’s approval process.

4. Hoods

The Hoods mod gives Geralt considerably more to wear on his head, adding hoods, cloaks, scarves, masks, and other pieces of headwear. It also includes plenty of options that can be mixed with existing equipment, giving players another way to customize Geralt without replacing any of his armor pieces.

5. New Hairstyles

Geralt will also get a little more variety at the barber. The New Hairstyles mod adds additional hairstyles and beards to the existing options, giving players more ways to customize his appearance without having to settle for the same handful of cuts throughout another playthrough.

6. Unlimited Inventory Capacity

The inventory limit has been a familiar nuisance for some players, particularly when they are carrying enough swords, monster parts, food, and crafting junk to stock a small warehouse. The demonstrated mod effectively removes that restriction, letting players carry far more without constantly having to stop and decide what Geralt can afford to throw away.

CDPR first announced cross-platform mod support in 2025 (via The Witcher), with PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S set to share a modding ecosystem through mod.io. The feature was later delayed into 2026, and it is now arriving alongside the remastered version. Nintendo Switch 2 is also part of the new console rollout.

Getting started should be straightforward. You will need to create a mod.io account and connect it to your CD Projekt Red account. Once that is done, you’ll be able to browse the available mods and install them directly from inside the game, without having to, of course, deal with the manual file management that PC modding can often involve.

That said, consoles will not be getting the entire Nexus Mods library that PC players have access to. Mods still have to meet the requirements of the relevant platform, and CDPR has also made clear that mods created with their official “REDkit” tools have the best chance of making it onto consoles

That’s all for the console mod support for now. Which of these mods are you most excited to try in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and is there another PC mod you’re hoping makes the jump to consoles? Let us know in the comments below!
