Afamous YouTube content creator from Oregon, United States, with more than 1.15 million subscribers, announced the news of his own death in a YouTube video titled "I'm dead."
Paul Harrell, 58, recorded a posthumous video in which he addressed subscribers while sitting on a log in a forest, the same spot from which he had told them he had been diagnosed with stage 2 pancreatic cancer.
"If you're looking at me, I'm dead," he told his fans in the video that was recorded on December 20, 2023. His family released the six-minute clip after his death on Tuesday. Harrell, who was a staunch anti-gun advocate in the United States, and created content around the issue, bitterly lamented both failing himself and his fans, because his plan was to keep making videos for several more years.
He did not overcome his illness
"I had hoped to continue in this format for the next 10 or even 15 years. Even when I was diagnosed, I was hoping we would be here for at least two or three more years, but it turned out to be only a few more months. I apologize for that. It makes me feel like I've let everyone down," he indicated.
He proceeded to detail his health battle despite previously assuring fans that his cancer had been "caught early" and that he would "be here for some time." Harrell further revealed that if he had been using crutches after breaking his hip, this was caused by his cancer that had spread to his bones, causing them to "crumble" and his hip to fracture.
Gun advocate
Paul further explained that his brother is the one who will take over the YouTube channel, and will maintain the same editorial line as him.
That is, he will continue to create content focused on gun advocates, whose use in the United States is guaranteed by its Constitution.
