Taylor Swift’s team is ticked off, Page Six hears.
On Thursday, The Athletic — the celebrated sports site that’s not known for breaking celeb news — revealed to readers that Swift was set to attend boyfriend Travis Kelce’s NFL season opener against the Baltimore Ravens, citing, “a source briefed on the security arrangements at Arrowhead Stadium.”
A source tells Page Six the leak had Swift’s people steamed.
“She has presidential-level security,” says our source. “After Austria, her security firm is not too happy that her whereabouts are out.”
In August, the CIA learned of a terrorist plot targeting Swift’s tour stop in Vienna, causing her to cancel three shows and putting her security team on extra high alert.
Our source says there is speculation that the NFL team leaked the news, perhaps to draw more viewers to Thursday’s big game.
“We’ll be prepared for her, and obviously welcome her with open arms,” Chiefs president Mark Donovan said in an interview with Front Office Sports about having Swift back at his stadium this season.
“She brings a lot with her, and it’s a pretty valuable, targeted demographic when you look at the makeup of her fan base,” Donovan said. “And we’ve looked at ways that we could be respectful.”
He added, “We’re not trying to capitalize on this. We’re trying to celebrate it, but it’s not about doing too much or showing her every touchdown or anything like that.”
Swift famously entered one of the games through the front gate in disguise.
Back in February, Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt talked about having Swift at games on SiriusXM, saying “Obviously, anywhere she goes is a security issue. It’s something that we’ve helped her security team handle when she comes to games in Kansas City, and I know the visiting teams that we’ve played this year where she’s shown up have had to do the same thing.”
“She has a really talented security team,” he continued. “They liaison with our security team, and we make sure we get her into and out of the stadium safely.”
During the season opener, Swift watched from a private suite with Kelce’s parents.
Later, Swift and Kelce celebrated his team’s win at a private bash at local bar Prime Social, Page Six exclusively reported.
