Taylor Strecker was in the middle of auditioning for “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” when she landed her spot on Stassi Schroeder’s new Hulu show, “House of Stassi.“
“I got asked to interview for ‘Housewives of Jersey’ whilst we were in the very beginning stages of ‘House of Stassi,'” the “Taste of Taylor” podcast host exclusively told Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea.”
Strecker, who has been close friends with Schroeder for more than a decade, will appear in the “Vanderpump Rules” alum’s new series, which is slated to drop on Hulu on July 30.
While Strecker, 39, said “House of Stassi” had already been “in the works for a minute” when she got the call about “RHONJ,” Schroeder, 38, still encouraged her to audition for the Bravo show.
“She’s the best friend ever,” Strecker gushed. “She’s like, ‘You gotta go — it’s ‘Housewives’ — you gotta go and give it your all, and let’s just see, and we’ll figure it out. Don’t worry. Live your dream.’ So, I did.”
Unfortunately, Strecker said she still hasn’t heard back from Bravo producers about her audition.
“Here’s the thing about auditioning. You never get a call saying you didn’t get it, so I’m still waiting!” she told “VRT.”
It seems unlikely that the phone will ring for Strecker, as Season 15 of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” began filming this spring after a nearly three-year hiatus.
Bravo announced in March that veteran stars Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga and Dolores Catania will be the only original cast members returning to the long-running show, and will be joined by a new group of Garden State “Housewives.”

Strecker, for her part, seems to have her hands full with “House of Stassi,” which will also star Schroeder’s husband, Beau Clark, former “Vanderpump Rules” star Katie Maloney and ex-SUR waitress Kristina Kelly, who also appeared in the original “Pump Rules.”
The radio vet shut down speculation that the upcoming show is “scripted.”
“It’s the most opposite thing of that,” she promised. “Your job is to be yourself. A producer said to me, which was such great advice, ‘If you think it, say it.’”
“House of Stassi” premieres on July 29 on Freeform, and will be available to stream on Hulu the following day.
