Tah reacts to Greece defeat: “Of course we're disappointed and angry!”

Jonathan Tah admitted Germany fell short in their 1-0 defeat to Greece, acknowledging that the visitors' game plan worked perfectly.

Jonathan Tah did not hide his disappointment after Germany's 0-1 defeat to Greece in Jürgen Klopp's first home game as national team head coach.

Germany dominated large parts of the match but struggled to create clear-cut chances against a compact Greek defence. Dimitris Kourbelis eventually scored the only goal of the game in the second half.

"It wasn't an easy game, we didn't do it well," Tah said after the final whistle. "We had a few chances that we could have taken, but we simply didn't manage to do that."

The defender also acknowledged that Germany failed to turn their possession and territorial dominance into enough attacking threat.

"We couldn't impose our dominance, the Greeks' plan worked perfectly," Tah explained.

The defeat was Klopp's first as Germany head coach after his opening 1-1 draw against the Netherlands. Tah admitted that the players were frustrated by the result, but stressed that the relationship between the team and supporters remains important.

"Of course we're disappointed and angry when we lose a game – but nevertheless, we always go to our fans to thank them," Tah said.

He also rejected the idea that the disappointing result would immediately undo the enthusiasm surrounding Klopp's arrival.

"The euphoria with the new coach won't simply disappear because of this. We just want to do better in the games to come," Tah added.
