VfB Stuttgart have confirmed a contract extension for injury-plagued centre-back Dan-Axel Zagadou.

The Frenchman's deal has been extended by a further year and now runs until the summer of 2027.

“Daxo’s footballing skills make him a valuable asset to our defence, and his personality makes him an important member of our squad. We’re looking forward to our future together," said Wohlgemuth.

Zagadou, who has been playing for Stuttgart since 2022, said:

“I’m very grateful for the trust the VfB management has placed in me. I’ll do everything in my power to perform at my best for the coaching staff, the club and the fans next season. Let’s get to work and be successful together!”
