Stranger Things 5 confirms the sad farewell of a key character: he will not return

The fifth and final season of Stranger Things is just around the corner, with its premiere scheduled in three parts between November and December 2025. This season will bring to a close the story set in Hawkins and unravel the secrets of the eerie Upside Down world. However, fans will have to say goodbye to Eddie Munson, one of the most beloved characters who will not return in this final installment

Eddie Munson, played by Joseph Quinn, played a crucial role in the fourth season. His bravery and sacrifice to protect Hawkins marked a key moment in the series. Despite his great impact, the creators have confirmed that Eddie will not appear in the fifth season. Matt Duffer, co-creator of the series, explained in an interview that Joseph Quinn is currently immersed in other film projects, making it impossible for him to return to Stranger Things.

This farewell leaves an important void for fans, who valued the character very much. However, the rest of the main cast will return to close out the saga, including Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin and Noah Schnapp, along with veterans such as Winona Ryder and David Harbour.

The final season will premiere with four episodes on November 26, followed by three more on Christmas Day and the final episode on December 31. Thus, Stranger Things seeks to maintain the expectation and offer a closure that lives up to its legacy.

Although Eddie Munson will not be present, fans are eagerly awaiting definitive answers and an epic conclusion to one of Netflix's most iconic series.
