SUMMARY

  • The latest Silent Hill 2 - Immersion Trailer has revealed that Silent Hill 2 remake is coming to "other formats" on 8th October 2025.
  • The gaming community believes that this is a hint that the game will also be released on Xbox consoles despite being a PlayStation exclusive.
  • Just like Black Myth: Wukong, an Xbox version for Silent Hill 2 remake has been delayed.

2001’s Silent Hill 2 is often cited as one of the best survival horror games of all time. Roughly two decades later, Bloober Team worked with Konami to create a fresh, remastered version of the game that is all set to release next month. It has been confirmed that the game is a PC and PlayStation 5 exclusive.

However, things won’t be like that for very long. A recent Immersion trailer for the game has confirmed that the game is coming to “other formats” on 8th October 2025. This is another setback for Xbox fans as Black Myth: Wukong was also delayed earlier this year, and now, it seems like the same format will be followed for Silent Hill 2.

Silent Hill 2 Remake Is Expected To Release On Xbox Consoles In 2025

Over the past few months, the gaming community got various trailers of Bloober Team’s upcoming video game, Silent Hill 2, which is a remake of the 2001 game of the same name. Xbox fans were disappointed when it was announced that the game is exclusively for PlayStation 5 and PC, however, a new trailer may have revealed that the game won’t be exclusive for very long.

The Silent Hill 2 – Immersion Trailer on YouTube clearly states that the game is “Not available on other platforms until 10.08.2025,” which obviously means that the game will be released on these “other platforms” exactly one year after Silent Hill 2‘s initial release date. It’s unclear as of now what those other platforms are but the community strongly believes that it is the Xbox Series X/S consoles.

The Immersion Trailer showcases how Silent Hill 2 completely utilizes the Dualshock 5 controller to provide fans with a better, immersive experience. 4K graphics, 3D audio, haptic feedback, and adaptive triggers are just a few features that players should expect to see.

Bloober Team has been praised for the amount of work they have put into the remake. Silent Hill 2 was already an exceptional video game but the studios managed to provide players with the same horror experience but with improved visuals, gameplay mechanics, and audio. Initially, there was some criticism about the direction Bloober Team was heading in as players weren’t impressed by early images of the game, however, in just a few months, they managed to turn things around.

As for the Xbox community, this is the second time a game was snatched away from Xbox players. One of the most popular games of 2024, Black Myth: Wukong was released for PlayStation 5 and Windows on August 20, 2024, but an Xbox Series X/S version has been delayed.
