The ex-football coach for the University of Michigan reemerges into the spotlight as his mistress has refused to give up without a fight. Paige Shiver, who was romantically involved with the coach, leading to his termination, has slammed the establishment with a lawsuit.

Sherrone Moore was dismissed from his job at the University after it was brought to light that he had an affair with Paige Shiver, who was also a member of staff at the time. Their relationship reportedly went on for over two years and even resulted in a pregnancy.

Paige Shiver may be giving the University of Michigan the shivers with new legal drama. The University just got caught in the crossfire as Shiver slammed the institution with a lawsuit. She claims, as per court docs, that the school has refused to hand over the records they have related to the investigation that led to Moore’s firing, ignoring her requests.

Shiver filed the documents in court on Wednesday, July 8, alleging that she has repeatedly requested the information Michigan has on her relationship with the coach during the time she served as his assistant, but the school pays her no heed. She claimed they keep shutting her requests down, and now she wants a court order to obtain the records.

In her suit, the former assistant states that in February 2026, she requested for all the audio, video, and transcripts of the interview Michigan conducted with her dad, Moore, and herself; however, the University denied them, citing an ongoing investigation. Shiver claims that their denial of her request is a violation of the Michigan Freedom of Information Act.

The University Allegedly Claimed Her Request Was ‘Vague’

As reported by TMZ, the institution turned down Shiver’s requests for records related to the investigation that resulted in her former lover’s employment termination. She stated that she reached out to the school last month again, reiterating her request, but they claimed it was “overly broad and vague.”

The former football coach assistant added that she wanted emails between Moore and Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel that included certain key words.

The words on her list were relevant to the investigation, such as “pregnancy,” “baby,” “abortion,” “discipline,” and “affair,” but the University claimed it was “exempt information.”

Furthermore, Shiver claims that she reached out to the school on two other occasions because she wanted meeting recordings and emails sent to their hired law firm, Jenner & Block, but every effort to get them fell on cold shoulders.

She also alleges that she experienced discrimination based on her sex while she worked with the institution and was subjected to a hostile work environment.

Paige Shiver Previously Revealed The Reason She Could Not Carry Moore’s Baby To Term

Shiver told the world months ago that during her affair with the former coach, she got pregnant, leaving fans in gasps. She dropped the bombshell during an interview with ABC News last April, disclosing that she could not keep the baby despite her dire desire to at the time.

The former assistant was brought to tears as she shared the details of that time of her life on a public platform. She disclosed that she could not carry the pregnancy to term due to medical reasons that would put her life at risk if she went against the doctor’s orders.

Shivers stated that she suffers from Pompe Disease, which, according to the Cleveland Clinic, is a genetic condition that causes progressive muscle weakness, especially in the skeletal muscles of locomotive body parts.

As reported by The Blast, she was warned by medical practitioners that it would be unsafe for her to carry the baby; hence, she had to make the painful decision to terminate the pregnancy.

The Former Football Coach Was Put On Probation

The fateful day was December 10; Michigan abruptly fired Moore after Shiver came clean to the University about their affair, and it was determined that he violated his contract with the school.

The former football coach reportedly drove to his ex-mistress’s house and confronted her, allegedly grabbing a butter knife and threatening to harm himself.

“He broke into my apartment, crying, yelling, enraged, and came at me with knives,” Shiver said. “I was threatened, and I feared for my life.” The police came and took him into custody, and he was initially charged with two separate misdemeanors and one felony.

ESPN reports that Moore later pleaded no contest to trespassing and malicious use of a telecommunications device involving a domestic relationship in exchange for dropping more serious charges, including the felony charge.

By reaching the plea deal, he was sentenced to eighteen months’ probation and fined just over $1,000. Moore was also barred from using drugs or alcohol, having any contact with Shiver, and possessing firearms.

American former professional football tight end, Shannon Sharpe, reacted to Moore’s predicament shortly after it made headlines. The athlete addressed the scandal from a personal point of view as he went through a similar situation where he was sued for sexual assault by a 22-year-old woman.

Sharpe spoke about the issue on his “Nightcap” podcast, telling his co-hosts, NFL star Chad Johnson and NBA champ Joe Johnson, that most men engage in illicit relationships with full knowledge that they are morally wrong.

He added that most times they think they can dodge the bullet of consequences, saying, “Nah, this is going to be different. She ain’t like that. It ain’t going to happen. It ain’t gonna get out.”

The Blast shared that Sharpe stressed that most people on the other side of things would not understand the pain and duress Moore was going through unless they had a personal experience.

“Until you’re in that pressure cooker. Until you’re in the eye of the storm. Everything that you worked your entire life for, you feel like it’s crumbling right before your eyes,” the former footballer explained.
