‘Sex and the City’ alum slept on floors in Paris for 6 months — could only afford one cucumber and cheese

“Sex and the City” alum Jason Lewis reflected on his rocky road to fame and having to sleep on floors in Paris with nearly no money for food before booking the ’90s hit TV series.

The actor, who portrayed Samantha Jones’ (Kim Cattrall) love interest Smith Jerrod, detailed his struggles when he relocated to Europe to model at the age of 21.

“I starved for a while,” he shared on a recent episode of his co-star Kristin Davis’ podcast, “Are You a Charlotte?”

Lewis, 55, would scout out bakeries and steal a baguette.

“Then, I would go to like an outdoor cafe … and take a pot of their mustard and dump it on [the baguette], and then I’d have mustard bread sandwiches for a lot of my meals,” he continued.

“So slept on floors,” the “Mr. Brooks” star told Davis, 61, explaining that his life changed when he booked a gig.

“I think my first like decent money started coming in about a year and a half later,” Lewis said. “So there was like a six-month starvation period where I could buy this one cucumber and this piece of cheese.”

“It was easy to stay skinny, though,” he quipped.

Lewis made his debut as Samantha’s young model boyfriend, Smith, on “SATC” in 2003 for the series’ sixth and final season when he was 32.

Samantha, who worked as a publicist, helped Smith’s career skyrocket as their relationship took an unexpectedly serious turn.

The duo’s characters even stuck together while Samantha was battling cancer, and were ultimately still a couple when the series wrapped in 2004.

Lewis reprised his role in the 2008 “Sex and the City” movie and the 2010 sequel, though he and Cattrall’s characters had split and remained friends.

He wasn’t asked to rejoin the cast, minus Cattrall, for the HBO reboot “And Just Like That,” which was canceled after three seasons last summer.

Cattrall, 69, didn’t sign onto the series, aside from making a brief cameo in Season 2, amid her longtime feud with Sarah Jessica Parker, who portrayed Carrie Bradshaw.

Additionally, the actress told Piers Morgan in a 2017 interview that she had “never been friends” with her other castmates, alluding to Davis (Charlotte York) and Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes).

Lewis, meanwhile, went radio silent after he competed on “Dancing With the Stars” during Season 31 in 2022.

However, he resurfaced in May to announce he had moved to Costa Rica and had written a nine-book fantasy series, which has yet to be revealed.

“After three years, it was time,” he captioned the post.
