Unlike the OG show, this version focuses on giving senior citizens a chance at love. Standing in the center of the spotlight in season 1 is 61-year-old Joan Vassos who will go through 24 contestants before she finds the right man for herself.

Despite being in her sixties, Joan Vassos looks as youthful as ever. Just one look at her and we are pretty sure no one would be able to guess her age at the first go. Unraveling the secrets of her timeless beauty, an expert opened up about the golden bachelorette’s plastic surgery allegations.

Coming to The Golden Bachelorette’s Joan Vassos, – a widow and private school administrator from Rockville, Maryland – she is so drop-dead gorgeous that she gives younger girls a run for their money.

However, according to an expert who confided in The Express, Vassos has had “little tweaks” done on her to maintain the healthy and timeless glow she rightfully flaunts.

CLNQ Clinic’s consultant plastic surgeon, Reza Nassab, complimented Vassos’ appearance and added that she has only had a few minor changes done to her face to enhance her already-existing beauty.

She stated,

Joan’s appearance and new fresh profile are very sharp and refreshing. She looks full of energy, healthy, confident and ready for a great season, with little tweaks aesthetically pleasing angles can be enhanced and improved subtlety.

As for what treatments Nassab believes Vassos has gone through, she said, “Subtle aesthetic treatments can include Morpheus8, Micro-needling, dermal fillers, tweakments and more to improve and brighten your complexion.”

There you have it. While Vassos may have had a few treatments here and there, her stunning appearance is largely due to taking care of herself all these years. Nassab also believes that the golden bachelorette indulges in a healthy and balanced diet along with using SPF daily.

Like it or not, there are certain expectations people are just supposed to follow when they turn an age most would consider “old.” Restrictions are set on how to live your life, what to do with your time, and more. Honestly, it can get pretty frustrating at times. After all, what is age if not just a number?

Well, Vassos hopes to change this outlook people have on aging. Talking to CNN about the taboo of it all, she stated that The Golden Bachelor/Bachelorette is a great way of proving the outdated nonsense wrong.

She stated,

In our culture, I feel like growing old is not a dignified thing. You’re just supposed to kind of fade in the back, take a backseat to the next generation. I’m hoping that we change that a little bit. We’re still fun and energetic and we know how to use our phones.

Talking about herself and the contestants, she stated that despite their ages, no one walked around with canes, contrary to the preconceived notions people have about seniors. Sure, a few had hearing aids but that is nothing to judge on. Vassos rightly stated that growing old has changed a lot in the past few years.

Growing old now is very different. We were all very fit, we exercised, we shared great stories about raising our kids and we learned so much from each other. There’s a lot of knowledge that we have inside of us because we’ve lived life.

Vassos opened up about the routine she follows to remain as youthful as ever with The Express. She stated that since age hasn’t been kind to the volume and radiance in her face, she swears by using moisturizers and following a makeup routine that gives color to her face. Vassos also gets biyearly Opus fractional laser treatments that treat the “tiny lines on her face and lightens her freckles and discoloration.”

Being a mother of four and grandmother of two and looking like that, Vassos clearly is doing something right.
