Schalke reportedly working on next transfer coup

Schalke are reportedly wasting no time in pursuing another marquee signing following the arrival of Robin Gosens earlier this week.

According to journalist Sascha Tavolieri, Schalke are working on a deal to bring defender Felix Uduokhai back to the Bundesliga. The report claims the newly promoted side have already opened talks with Beşiktaş over a potential transfer.

Schalke are hoping to secure the 27-year-old on an initial loan deal with an option to buy, while Uduokhai himself is said to be keen on making the move to Gelsenkirchen.

The centre-back remains under contract with Beşiktaş until 2027. After spending the 2024/25 season on loan from FC Augsburg, the Turkish club exercised their option to make the deal permanent last summer for a reported fee of €5 million.

Since arriving in Istanbul, Uduokhai has made 58 competitive appearances for Beşiktaş. Should the move go through, the former Germany youth international would become Schalke’s fifth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Kevin Müller, Satoshi Tanaka, Junior Adamu and Robin Gosens.
