SC Freiburg to rival Lorient for Georgian winger Tsitaishvili

In his most recent campaign, the 25-year-old produced 3 goals and 2 assists for struggling Ligue 1 club Metz.

According to sources at FussballTransfer.com, SC Freiburg are interested in pursuing Giorgi Tsitaishvili this summer.

The Breisgau club are monitoring the free agent left winger, who was recently relegated from Ligue 1 with FC Metz last season.

However, fellow French outfit FC Lorient currently leads the race for Tsitaishvili, who would like to stay in France.

Eredivise club PSV Eindhoven is also interested, but from Freiburg's perspective, signing Tsitaishvili would be a throwback for fans.

In the early 2000s, Freiburg was home to many Georgian players including Aleksandre Iashvili, Levan Kobiashvili, and Levan Tsitaishvili.
