Reports emerging from Kicker.de have suggested that Ismael Saibari's injury is likely worse than initially feared.

The injury suffered by the summer arrival has been diagnosed by Bayern Munich doctors as a torn muscle fiber in his thigh.

Saibari will work on his recovery in Munich after his vacation and will join his new teammates after the Asia tour which ends on 8 August.

While no timeframe has been placed on the versatile attacker's return, the news comes as a blow for the German champions.

At the World Cup, Saibari produced three goals in his first four appearances before the injury brought his involvement to an abrupt halt.

He was substituted in the 22nd-minute in their 3-0 last-16 victory against Canada and failed to feature in Morocco's 2-0 loss to France.
