Ryan Lochte engaged to girlfriend Molly Gillihan after 14 months of dating

Ryan Lochte and his girlfriend, Molly Gillihan, are engaged after 14 months of dating.

The Olympic swimmer got down on one knee at the Prime and Pearl restaurant in Gainesville, Florida, last week, TMZ reported Friday.

Photos obtained by the outlet showed the couple passionately kissing, as Gillihan wrapped her arms tightly around Lochte while holding the ring box.

Additionally, red flower petals made a pathway to Lochte and Gillihan’s table, which was elegantly decorated with more roses and candles.

Gillihan, 38, flaunted what appeared to be an oval-shaped engagement ring with a gold band.

According to the outlet, the duo had their first date at the eatery.

A rep for Lochte did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment, while reps for Reid and Gillihan were not immediately available for comment on Friday afternoon.

Lochte got engaged to Gollihan despite still being married to his wife, Kayla Reid.

Per court documents obtained by Page Six, Reid filed for divorce from the athlete in March 2025 after seven years of marriage.

At the time, Reid cryptically hinted that “betrayal” was the reason behind their bombshell split before revealing that he allegedly did drugs in front of their kids: Caiden, Liv, and Georgia.

Lochte revealed in September 2025 that he went to rehab and was “54 days sober” via an Instagram post.

“I’m so happy right now, and the big reason is that I’m 54 days sober. Yes!” he wrote at the time.

In March, Reid seemingly accused her estranged husband of allegedly cheating on her with Gillihan, saying during an episode of her “The Comeback Era” podcast that the pair — who had already moved in together — have been “happy for a very long time. Very long time. For many years. They go way back.”

The following month, Lochte, 41, allegedly fired back with an email, which Reid shared to her Instagram account.  

“Molly is a ten times better mother then [sic] you will ever be and I think if it was bad idea we wouldn’t go,” he allegedly wrote. “Look at the offer I just sent to your lawyer and move on with your gold digging life.” 

“This is what I deal with every. single. day,” Reid, 34, wrote atop the alleged email.

Amid Lochte’s reported engagement, Reid appeared unaffected, taking to Instagram Stories on Friday with a fan Q&A session.
