RJ Mitte’s relationship with his fiancée, Kennedy Suarez, reportedly underwent strain after she left their Texas home and moved to Georgia for work, leaving him behind and unwilling to join her.
Per a report from TMZ, Mitte, who died by suicide Oct. 12 at the age of 34, was living with Suarez in Brownsville, Texas when she decided in December 2025 to move to the Atlanta area for work. The job was supposedly a remote position; however, she reportedly wouldn’t return to Texas full time, while Mitte did not want to relocate.
A source told the outlet that the relationship had been struggling since August of that year, with Suarez occasionally not wearing her engagement ring under the excuse of fearing being robbed. The source noted that the couple’s problems “significantly” contributed to Mitte’s emotional decline leading up to his final days.
TMZ previously reported that Mitte’s mother, Dyna, and Suarez had a tense relationship, with Suarez allegedly wanting the “Breaking Bad” actor to cut ties with both his mother and sister.
However, Dyna, who heartbreakingly described being the one to find her son dead, claimed that a friend had told the actor something “that he was very hurt over” and that she believes his suicide may have been a decision made “in the spur of the moment.”
“We all go through heartbreak in our life and we all deal with it differently,” she said, confessing that she wished she’d dragged him “screaming and yelling” to therapy amid his apparent mental health struggles.

Additionally, a source exclusively told Page Six that the actor seemed to be doing well in Texas and was thrilled upon his engagement in 2025.
“He was such a beautiful, kind person. He seemed so excited and happy when he got engaged. He moved to Texas to start a new opportunity outside of the Hollywood industry,” they said.
“He was really optimistic about that and was really hopeful of successes out there,” the insider added. “He was busy with what he was doing out there and it seemed to make him happy. This all seems so shocking. He always was smiling and happy in public.”
Mitte was best known for his role as Walter “Flynn” White Jr. on “Breaking Bad.”
In his last interview before his tragic death, Mitte was asked about his plans for the future and he said he wanted to continue auditioning and “living the dream.”
“I tell people, you know, every dream could be a nightmare, too … but just keep living it, just keep pushing forward,” he said on “The Joe Vulpis Podcast” on Oct. 5.
