Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was spotted wearing his wedding ring during his first public outing since his “sexting” scandal — as his wife Cheryl Hines ditched hers during an Italian vacation.
RFK Jr. – the son of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy and nephew of President John F. Kennedy – wore his band onstage during an event supporting former President Donald Trump at the Robert. E “Bob” Price Recreation Center in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
He sat alongside former US Representative Tulsi Gabbard throughout the event, titled “Team Trump’s Reclaim America Tour.”
The 70-year-old politician’s main talking points to the crowd were that the Democratic Party he grew up with “no longer exists” and also spoke about what “Make America Great Again” means to him, according to The Las Vegas Sun
RFK Jr. was allegedly involved in a “sexting” affair with New York magazine political reporter Olivia Nuzzi, 31, who is accused of sending him “demure” nudes.
Kennedy’s decision to stump for Trump in Vegas comes on the same day Hines celebrated her birthday — and a day after she was photographed without her wedding ring.
Hines jetted to Italy for Milan Fashion week and spent her 59th birthday on Saturday with her daughter from her first marriage, Catherine Young, and RFK Jr.’s daughter, Kyra Kennedy.
The actress was seen smiling and in good spirits on Friday after attending a Gucci afterparty but fans noticed she wasn’t sporting her usual wedding ring.
Instead of wearing the band she’s shown off for the past decade that is thick and silver, she appeared to have worn a dainty gold band on her left finger.
The Emmy-nominated actress hasn’t commented on the alleged affair but a source told Page Six on Friday that the star is likely fuming and would be “shocked if Cheryl stays” in a marriage with RFK Jr.
Page Six reached out to Hines’ rep for comment.
Nuzzi penned a profile on Kennedy that was published in November 2023, and sometime after that, the two began their alleged fling, STATUS news reported, citing sources.
A spokesperson for Kennedy told the Post he’d only met Nuzzi once for an interview she had requested.
Nuzzi was allegedly “obsessed” with RFK Jr. after that meeting and “went after him aggressively” even though he “was blocking her continually,” a source close to Kennedy claimed to the Post.
An insider pushed back on those claims, telling The Post that both parties stopped texting each other at times due to the “high risk.”
The journalist was placed on leave so New York magazine could conduct “a more thorough third-party review.” According to a press release from the publication, this relationship was a “violation of the magazine standards around conflicts of interest and disclosures.”
In a statement released Thursday, Nuzzi did not name that she had an affair with the 70-year-old but admitted “the nature of some communication between myself and a former reporting subject turned personal” earlier this year but insisted that it was not physical.
Since the news broke, Nuzzi’s ex-fiancé Ryan Lizza, who is the Chief Washington Correspondent for Politico, revealed their engagement is off.
