Red Bull Salzburg are keen to appoint Danny Röhl as their new head coach, according to Sky Germany.

The report claims that the Austrian club have opened talks with Rangers FC, where Röhl is currently under contract as head coach until 2028.

The 37-year-old previously worked as an assistant at RB Leipzig and could reportedly “envision” a return to the Red Bull group.

Röhl, who also previously served as an assistant at Bayern Munich, has been linked with a return to the German Bundesliga on several occasions, but may now opt for a move to Austria instead.

He took over as Rangers head coach in October 2025.
