Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton is officially closing the door on his Las Vegas chapter. After relocating to Miami with his family, he listed his Vegas home for $4.25 million, marking the end of an era that began when he left Los Angeles for Southern Nevada years ago.
After a terrifying health scare earlier this year, Hilton made the decision to pack up his family and return to his hometown of Miami to start a new chapter.
Hilton recently sat down with The Blast to chat exclusively about the Vegas house that’s currently on the market and what it’s been like relocating to Miami after so many years on the west coast.
Perez Hilton’s Multi-Million Dollar Vegas Home Hits The Market
The Blast | Jesse VanDerveerA new chapter has begun for the well-known celebrity blogger and it’s no longer in Sin City. Hilton and his family recently relocated from Las Vegas to Miami, his hometown, after a health scare that put things into perspective.
“After the hospital, I did a lot of healing and reflecting and I just thought it’d be the best move for the family to be back where I was born and raised and to be around more family and to have support,” he told The Blast. “Because you know, my mom’s getting older and who knows what’ll happen with her or with me or with any of us. You know, tomorrow’s not guaranteed, and your life can change in an instant.”
When asked how he’s feeling now, he simply said, “I’m just grateful to be alive. Feeling grateful.”
‘It Was The Best Way To Live In Vegas’
The Blast | Jesse VanDerveerWhile talking about his 6-bedroom, 6.5-bath house in the Prado by Blue Heron community, Hilton said it gave him all the room he needed, with a few added luxuries.
“Having a guest house so that I could have my sister and friends over, it was the best way to live in Vegas, I would say,” he told The Blast. He added what his favorite room in the home is. “I would say I love the bathroom, because it’s a space that you use every day, and it has the biggest shower ever. It’s a two-person shower that I use by myself.”
One thing Hilton said he enjoyed about living in Vegas was the community.
“You know, I love the people,” he said. “I love that it’s a small town, but a big city. And there is obviously always so much to do.”
While on the subject of what he will miss most about Vegas, he said he will miss his favorite restaurant, Bazaar Meat, and the kids will miss Adventure Dome at Circus Circus.
Why Relocating To Miami Felt Like The Right Move For Perez Hilton And His Family
The Blast | Melanie VanDerveerThe decision to move from Vegas back to Miami didn’t come lightly for Hilton. It was during his time of healing after his health scare that he did a lot of reflecting and thought the best move for him and his family would be Miami.
Since it’s been many years since he’s lived in Miami, things are very different now, and he’s embracing the new with the old.
“Miami’s changed so much in the last 30 years, so I am getting to revisit some of my old haunts but also discover everything new about Miami,” he told The Blast. “I’m excited for them [his three children] to continue what I had already begun, which is to really embrace their roots. We only speak Spanish at home, and that’s definitely something that comes in very handy in Miami where a lot of people don’t even speak English, or they don’t speak English that well. So being bilingual is a huge plus and that’ll really be fostered here.”
When he told his kids that they would be moving to Florida, they had “mixed emotions,” but were “overall excited.”
“I think happy kids will be happy anywhere,” he said. He added that his mom is “thrilled” and the “happiest” moving back to Miami near family.
Moving To Miami Won’t Change Perez Hilton’s Content Much
While Hilton posts a lot of celebrity news and gossip, he was also posting a lot of Vegas content. Now that he’s moved to Miami, he plans to just swap out the Vegas content for Miami content. He even changed his name on Instagram to @PerezLovesMiami.
He also has other IG pages, including @theperezhilton and @perezhilton that focuses more on celebrity news and gossip.
It’s All About ‘Location, Location, Location’
The Blast | Jesse VanDerveerHilton explained that the location of his Vegas home is “right in the middle of everything.”
“Location, location, location, as they say in real estate,” he said. “It’s 13 minutes to the Strip. I’ve timed it. And 13 minutes to Summerlin as well, which is where my gym was. So it’s just right in the middle of everything.”
The nearly 7,000-square-foot home features six bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms, a home office, customized “NexGen Suite” which was his mother’s private living space, a pool, casita, and more. It’s situated on a corner lot on a quiet cul-de-sac in Spring Valley.
According to realtor Kathryn Winterton with Las Vegas Sotheby’s, the home “has a beautiful pool, spa, a NexGen Suite which is unique to this home, has a casita with its own bathroom.”
“It’s a great family home with lots of privacy on a big corner lot,” Winterton told The Blast exclusively. “And it’s somewhere that’s located right between Summerlin and the Strip, so a lot of people love that location. It’s gated and it really is an exclusive Blue Heron privacy featured home.”
