Police in Ottawa are looking for a woman who is a suspect in an alleged New Year’s Eve assault downtown.

The incident happened in the area of Lyon Street North and Albert Street at about 11:30 p.m., when the suspect and victim had a brief exchange before the victim was physically assaulted.

The victim was not seriously injured.

The suspect is described as a white woman, approximately 20 to 30 years old, with blonde hair. At the time of the assault, she was wearing a long, white winter jacket and carrying a black bag.
