In a Monday news release, police said officers discovered pills at Ruisseau Park, located southeast of the intersection of Orléans Boulevard and Creek Crossing Street, after conducting an extensive search of several parks in the area.

This comes after police issued two releases over the weekend, the first coming on Aug. 22 after a resident of the area reported the first set of pills at Blue Willow Park on Longleaf Drive.

Officers then discovered more pills scattered around Silverbirch Park on Silverbirch Street shortly after, according to a release the next day.

Police say they have now recovered and seized more than 100 pills across the three parks located “in close proximity to one another,” situated in the neighbourhood south of the Innes Road and Orléans Boulevard intersection.

Other nearby parks were also searched, police said, but no pills or other unknown substances were found.

The pills were of various sizes, types and colours, and were scattered near bushes and trees, on the grass and concealed inside acorns, according to the Aug. 22 release.

“Anyone who locates pills or other unknown substances is asked to leave them in place and contact police immediately,” police said Monday.

Residents are asked to be alert of any suspicious activity in the area as the investigation remains ongoing.
