A 30-year-old Ottawa man has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a four-month old infant last year.

Ottawa police announced the charges Saturday after a 16-month investigation into the death, which they said occurred May 6, 2023 at a residence on Genest Street in Vanier.

Police said Ahmed Mashkor was to appear in court Saturday on charges of second-degree murder and failing to provide the necessities of life for the infant.

More to come.
