Across the Ottawa River in Gatineau, the history museum has its annual maintenance booked for Jan. 13-17. It will be closed during that period and reopen Jan. 18.

If you are keen to visit a museum this week, the Canada Museum of Science and Technology, the Canadian Museum of History and the Canada Museum of Agriculture at the Central Experimental Farm are open to visitors.

Art aficionados looking for another destination can visit the municipally run Ottawa Art Gallery. It’s open Tuesdays to Sundays, and admission is free.
